Many of his songs have the stripped down vocals and instrumentals of a bygone age, and yet that apparent simplicity is belied by the surprising complexity of many of the arrangements. I often play this CD in the car, and some songs will make my infant daughter's feet kick in time, while others will lull her to sleep with wonderful melodies. I never described myself as the world's greatest Elvis fan, or at least I didn't until I purchased this CD. His songs have aged extremely well, and it is amazing how just the first cords of some of his great hits will make people's faces light up with grins. The King truly transcends all generations, and if you ever get tired of the braying cacophony of noise on today's radio channels this CD is the ultimate cure -- even if you're a hard headed woman and I'm a soft hearted man. There is something about listening to the seemingly endless list of his #1 hits that would make anyone a believer. Elvis was properly legend even in his own time, but this CD throws into stark relief the amazing staying power of his music and his voice.
and what a 'connection' with the audience, he has one in the palm of his hand once he starts his show. what can i say, elvis is still the KING of rock 'n roll - forever. what a voice.

There are some awesome songs on this CD like Don't Be Cruel, Hound Dog, All Shook Up, (Let Me Be Your) Teddy Bear, Jailhouse Rock, Stuck On You, Good Luck Charm, Return to Sender, and A Little Less Conversation.
